Zacchaeus

(null)

Relieved… Exhausted… Amazed! I was simply blown away at the work of God this past weekend at Infuzion® 5 at Camp Hebron. It was a return back to where it all started for the ministry in the state of Pennsylvania. Camp Hebron hosted the first ever Pennsylvania Infuzion retreat several years ago and we have never been the same since!

I think that the same could be said of the junior high students that we had the chance to come alongside over the course of this weekend. There was a deep seeded hunger and while I know that I use similar terms to describe different Infuzion events, this camp had a different feel to it. I sensed that layers of shame fell. Captives that were stuck in sin were allowed to be free. The call to rise up and understand the level of excellence that God has for each of us was understood.

The critical point seemed to take place on Saturday night when I shared a message about Zacchaeus. I tried to convey a similar message last night on Untorn®, but the moment wasn’t fully articulated as it was experienced over the weekend. While distractions may come in the form of people and circumstances, our determination in the Lord doesn’t need to take a backseat! Zacchaeus overcame the odds and by God’s interaction, faithfulness, grace, and love, he was rescued along with his household.

I’ve got to believe that God wants to do the same in each one of our lives. He wants to instill in us the same determination to see him no matter what our physical stature is. Maybe we need to get ahead of the crowd or climb a tree. Maybe we need to hear the complaints of others and overcome those obstacles. Whatever the case may be, let’s recognize the power of God as greater than the issues that plague us in our world today. After all, God is in the business of freeing people and breaking all sorts of chains, including the ones that we like to keep locked away and inside our hearts!

Be free!

Much Love, Jay
