Weekend Retreat of 5

(null)

Last year on President’s Day weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Beaver Camp for their junior high winter weekend in the Adirondacks. This year it’s just as cold and my President’s Day weekend is going to be spent somewhere else…

At the recommendation of some incredible people that I look up to, I have been tracking our numbers over the past year for Infuzion®. We are ahead of where we were at a year ago with the chance to share the Gospel and connect people to life in Christ. This weekend, we don’t have the chance to add to Infuzion’s numbers, but the opportunity to connect people to life in Christ and share the Gospel this weekend is still there…

Home. This is where I am “heading” this weekend. The incredible thing is that we don’t need an organization, an event, or a program to share the Gospel. We don’t need to do anything extravagant to connect people to life in Christ through creative ways. We need to simply just be available! God will put people in our spheres of influence to interact with and do life with them! It’s through this connection that we can have the privilege and the honor of being able to live out our love for God and people.

This weekend, I have the chance to share it with the 5 people that are most precious to me. I have the chance to connect with God in the early morning hours before the house becomes filled with activity. I have the chance to connect with my wife, Marie, and continue to grow in our marriage together as we focus in on loving each other and raising our precious kids. I have the chance to connect with Mya, my oldest, who is both headstrong and has an incredible God-given, Holy Spirit-led sensitivity. I have the chance to connect with Seth, my boy wonder, who loves his guy time with his daddy. I have the chance to connect with Breah, my youngest, who is focused and determined to get what she desires, but has the biggest smile that lights up every room that she visits.

No, it’s not your typical Infuzion retreat weekend or camping event. It is a weekend, though, that I get to connect to Christ personally and walk with my family in their journey of doing the same. I have a precious family that gives so much and sacrifices time, energy, and other resources to allow me to be part of Infuzion. I don’t want to ever lose sight of this reality or take advantage of it.

So… for this weekend and my time at home with those that are closest to me, I am grateful. I’m overjoyed at the chance to share a rare weekend with my family and look forward to the time of rest to get prepared for upcoming retreat weekends. Spend time who those that are closest to you, because you never know the incredible Kingdom influence that you can have on those around you. It’s not about a program or an event, it’s about making Christ known to those that are closest to your heart and in your world!

Much Love, Jay
