Do you feel it? Do you sense it? With every journey, one can have the sense of adventure going in or be completely turned off because of change that can stir up fear. Transitions can do this and I think that it is important to have a sense of purpose during season’s of change. When these times come, without being grounded and founded on things of substance one’s identity and hope could suffer in some detrimental ways.
I love the reality that God is in the business of transforming hearts and changing lives. His grace changes our status and it’s motivated by His love for us. He loves us just as we are to come to Him, but He has so much more for our lives and wants to put into us a heart that eagerly longs for more. This transformation moves us from our current condition towards being more like Him in mission and mindset.
Philippians 3:14 proclaims the heart of what I’m trying to communicate: “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
There is an upward call that has been placed on your life and it is the process of sanctification. Not to be confused as just some big church or religious term, this process makes you more holy and prepares you for the work of God in and through your life in the future. It’s the process of being set apart for holy usage! God isn’t in the business of dumbing your life down and weighing you in the slavery of sin. He’s in the business of setting you free of the upward call of God that is placed on your life!
The adventure is building and your life is made for the purposes of Heaven. He wants you to come as you are, but to also be available to be used for so much more. Allow hope to transform you! Allow His grace to move inside of you! Be drawn to God and begin to dream about all that He has for you. Venture onward in your life with the upward intentions of what you are made for. We were made for so much more than we could ever dream, think, fathom, or imagine!
Much Love, Jay
