The beauty of the area beyond my backyard is breathtaking. Every weekday morning, provided the weather holds, I try to go for an early run to start my day focused, aware, alert, and alive. It’s incredible to see the sunrise over the Erie Canal as I finish the venture home to start my day. I see the reflection off of the water, the glimpse of the skyline and the array of reds, oranges, and yellows come alive across the sky. The birds sing and the busyness of the day hasn’t settled into its routine. The morning is filled with peace!
All too often, we try to live a life of peace that is only manufactured and contributing towards the chaos of our world. We add to our own hypocrisy by creating deception that puts blinders on the realities of how much we need to reflect the Lord and His incredible glory. As the Erie Canal and any waterway reflects the light of the sun and sky above, we need to reflect the transformational grace that God builds inside of each one of us!
It’s about walking the talk. It’s not about doing more or trying harder; it’s about surrender and letting go! This month on our podcast, we have been looking at what it means to be people of mission – to live life with purpose and on purpose. We are called to go, but before we do this we need to let go. Instead of striving and adding to the chaos, maybe it’s time to respond to the peace available by reflecting the life of Christ inside of our lives. Let’s stop talking a good game and begin to live it – be it – and become it! Live life with purpose and mission by reflecting Jesus to a world that needs Him!
Much Love, Jay
