New Life

As I look outside today compared to a month ago, I am reminded of the ongoing changes that take place in our world. It was just a few short weeks ago where we had our world completely covered by the white stuff that comes with winter… SNOW. As the weather turned, snow gave way to brown, seemingly lifeless grass and other vegetation. Spring was coming, but we weren’t sure when it would arrive.

With the season change knocking on our door, the colors of our world began to show more vibrancy. Browns became green, the snowbanks melted away, and the birds were returning home after migrating south for the winter. These were signs of life! The flowers began to grow in our front garden and we as a family grew excited about the upcoming walks that we could take on the Erie Canal to our village.

With the season changing, I am reminded of how the Gospel message transforms the winter doldrums of our lives into something beautiful. Winter gives way to spring, which later gives way to summer. God is in the business of doing the same thing in our lives. The signs of life point to the drive and desire of hope. Today, don’t rest in hope by itself. Lean into the new life and transformation that Jesus brings through His sacrifice for your life. As long as winter seems to remain in our lives remember you aren’t stuck there. Grow in the transformation that God wants to do in you through His Good News today!

Much Love, Jay
