Change

Change… it’s happening around us all the time. The circumstances of life, the weather, people moving, change is happening all around us. We can either adapt or crumble under the pressure. It’s easy to just go with the flow, but healthy change takes place when we can be proactive and involved in seeing what changes are coming. It’s a fine line of trying to maintain some semblence of control versus adapting and knowing your own reaction to different things.

No matter what the case, if we aren’t involved with it we are going to be reactionary and behind the times. In these moments, I know from personal experience, I have found myself embarrassed and frustrated because of not taking on the responsibility for seeing transition happen right in front of me. Change brings about the chance and opportunity to learn and grow. We find who we are and what we are passionate about when change takes place. We also learn who or what we depend on for support when there are changes happening around us.

I want to stay ahead of things. I am always open to talking about changing the program of Infuzion® for the sake of the people that we serve. See, I never want to be so stuck in one pattern or one mode of ministry that I neglect to see the generational changes that are going on in culture and in life. I know that this happens to organizations and their leadership all the time. It’s a thought that says, “Well, that’s the way we have always done it.”

NO!

Granted, I want to make sure that God is honored and glorified in everything, but God gives us a spirit of freedom. Galatians 5:1 says that, “It is for freedom’s sake that you have been set free…” The passage goes on to say that we shouldn’t submit again to a yoke of slavery and sin that once entrapped us. This isn’t a freedom to do whatever you want, but a freedom to become the man or woman of God that He intended for us to be!

When change is coming, it is an opporunity to practice freedom in Jesus’ name! Enjoy the opportunity and the chance to embrace the change. You don’t have to settle for spiritual leftovers when God has creativity, freshness, and zeal as part of His attributes and characteristics. God has made us peculiar, unique, and one of a kind. Let’s allow these charactistics to flow from within outwardly in freedom as we minister to others!

Much Love, Jay

P.S. Tune in tonight at 8:30pm for a unique, fun change that we’re adding to Untorn
