Alright, I have to admit, it’s been awhile. We have been busy… you have been busy… things are happening… and we haven’t updated the front page of our website in quite awhile. First off, I have to tell you that I am sorry that I haven’t connect for awhile with our website or with you. Secondly, you would probably like to know what we have been up to for the past two months! Well… we have been to numerous camps and then took a time to digest what took place this summer and also to simply rest.
Overall this summer, we were privileged to be part of seven different camps with four of them being brand new to the ministry this summer! It was a difficult time, but one that was filled with a ton of fruit and cultivation. Right before we left this summer, I read the passage in the Gospel of Mark that talks about sowing seed along fertile soil and healthy ground. I have come to the determination that I want to spend my time doing this and pouring the things of the Lord into good and solid soil. I don’t want to carelessly throw seed to the wind and trust that it will land in the right spot. I want to be intentional and discerning. I want to have a narrow focus and purpose, going for it with reckless abandon. I’m happy to tell you that we not only accomplished this as a team this summer, we also went digging.
We went digging through hard hearts and deep into people’s lives. There was some incredible breakthrough to find some good, healthy soil to put down some good seed that is now germinating and growing some roots. We are excited about what God is doing in this endeavor and continue to look forward to hear about the good reports of all that is happening in people’s hearts and lives with God’s transformation. In some ways, it was tough, but the fruit that will result is exciting to watch and witness.
After the long stretch of camps, it was time for a recharge. Most of us have rested and found some time to simply be with the Lord over the course of the past week and a half or so. We are gearing up for the fall now, including putting together plans for Roots (our youth conference in Rochester – Nov. 9-11), Untorn® (our internet broadcast coming again in Sept.), and our retreats with different groups. It’s really exciting and fun to be in these foundational times in order to prepare and plan well for this fall. The rest has been good and meaningful, but I can’t wait to be back in action again.
Anyways, thank you for all of your prayers and for a really defining summer of ministry. The best is still yet to come and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for this incredible team. Join me as we continue to prepare and get ready for what the future holds. We appreciate your support and continued encouragement. We look forward to this next season with great anticipation and look forward to seeing many of you on the road. Hope you can make it out to one of our upcoming events and Roots in November. God bless each of you!
All for Him, Jay Trainer
